1. Data We Collect & Collection Methods

Local Personal Data (Strictly Offline): Finance Manager is designed to work offline. Your personal transactions, bank balances, and loan details are stored in a secure local SQLite/Room database on your device. This data is never uploaded to our servers.

Collaborative Data (Cloud Sync): Only data related to “Shared Events” is collected and stored via Google Firebase. This includes event names, split amounts, and member nicknames to facilitate real-time syncing between group members.

Account Information: When you sign in (e.g., via Google), we collect your basic profile information (Name, Email) to maintain your unique User ID for cloud-based services.
2. Data Usage & Purpose
We use the collected data strictly for:

Enabling real-time collaborative expense tracking.

Providing secure automated transaction detection via on-device Notification Listening.

Generating financial reports (PDF/Excel) as requested by you.
3. Data Safety & Encryption

In-Transit: All data synced between your device and Firebase is protected using high-level SSL/TLS encryption.

At Rest: Data stored in our Firebase Realtime Database is protected by strict server-side Security Rules, ensuring only authorized participants with the correct “Invite Code” can access specific event data.
4. Full Data Deletion Policy (User Control)
In compliance with Google Play’s Data Deletion Policy, we provide multiple ways to purge your information:

Manual Event Deletion: Deleting a “Shared Event” from the dashboard will permanently erase all transaction history associated with that event from our cloud servers.

Complete Account Wipe: By selecting “Delete My Data & Account” in the Settings:

Your Firebase Authentication account is deleted.

All your personal entries in our Cloud Database are wiped.

All local app data on your device is cleared.

Retention: We do not keep any “shadow copies” of your deleted data. Once you delete it, it is gone forever.
5. Permissions & Third-Party SDKs
To function effectively, we use:

Google ML Kit: For on-device text recognition. Privacy Guarantee: No raw text or sensitive images leave your device.

Notification Listener: To automate entries. Privacy Guarantee: This processing is strictly local.

Google Play Services: For core app infrastructure and security updates.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes in app features or legal requirements. Users will be notified of significant changes via an in-app notice.
